Start a new word from the last letter and keep the chain going. The clock shrinks, lives run out!

How many players

Played by 1 or 2: solo against the computer, or online against another player.

Online: create a room and send the link to a friend, or get matched with a random opponent. If nobody shows up, we offer a clearly labeled computer opponent.

Goal: Find a word that starts with the last letter of your opponent’s word; whoever runs out of lives first loses.

The game gives you a starting letter. The first player types a word that starts with it.
The next player types a new word starting with the last letter of the previous word. That’s how the chain grows.
You both have 3 lives. Type a word that isn’t in the dictionary, run out of time, or pass, and you lose a life and the turn goes to your opponent.
First to lose all their lives loses.

Words need at least 3 letters and can’t already be in the chain.
Words ending in X continue from the letter before the X (BOX → O), since hardly any words start with X.
Accents and apostrophes are ignored (CAFÉ = CAFE). Plurals and verb forms (CATS, WALKED) count as words.
Each turn starts at 15 seconds; every 8 words the clock loses 1 second (8 seconds minimum).
A wrong first letter, a short word or a repeat doesn’t cost a life; you get a warning, fix it and send again.
Computer: Easy plays everyday words and stumbles now and then. Hard is fast, rarely stumbles, and pushes you toward letters with few words.

Touch: Type with the on-screen keyboard and tap Send. The first letter is filled in for you.
Keyboard: Type on your keyboard; Enter sends, Backspace deletes.

Online the rules are the same; the server checks the words.
Words are in the room’s language: if the host opened the room on the Turkish site, you play with Turkish words.
A word that isn’t in the dictionary is never sent to your opponent; they only see that you lost a life.
If you get disconnected, you have 60 seconds to come back or your opponent wins. Leaving the game also hands them the win.
Both of you have to ask for a rematch.
