  • Online: create a room and send the link to a friend, or get matched with a random opponent. If nobody shows up, we offer a clearly labeled computer opponent.

How to play

Goal: Guess what’s being drawn before everyone else, and when it’s your turn, draw so everyone gets it. Most points at the end wins.

Step by step

  1. The player whose turn it is picks one of 3 words: easy, medium or hard.
  2. They have 80 seconds to draw it with their finger. Writing letters isn’t banned, just lame!
  3. Everyone else types guesses. Nobody sees anyone else’s guesses.
  4. A correct guess scores 50-100 points: the sooner, the more.
  5. The artist scores too, based on how many got it: 100 if everyone did.

Rules

  • As time passes, letters of the word are revealed one by one (at least two always stay hidden).
  • If a guess is one letter off you’ll see "so close"; capitals and accents don’t matter.
  • The turn ends early once everyone has guessed.
  • With 2 players everyone draws three times, with 3 twice, and with more, once.
  • In solo play the computer draws, and you race BOT opponents to guess.

Controls

  • Touch: Drawing: pick a color and size, draw with your finger. The bucket fills an area with one tap, the eraser paints white, undo removes the last stroke. Guessing: type on the on-screen keyboard and tap Send.
  • Keyboard: When guessing, type on your keyboard; Enter sends, Backspace deletes.

In online matches

  • 2-8 players. Create a room and send the link to a friend or your group; the host starts when everyone’s in.
  • Words come in the room’s language: rooms created on the English site get English words.
  • BOTs added to the room draw their own ready-made doodles on their turn and are always labeled BOT.
  • If someone disconnects, a BOT plays for them until they’re back.

Tips

  • Draw the big shape first and add details later: a drawing guessed early scores for both sides.
  • Filling shapes with the bucket makes drawings much easier to read.
