Stockboi English word data: sources and licenses

words.txt and common.txt in this folder were generated with scripts/build-words-en.mjs from the
source below. Category lists (cat-*.txt) are documented separately in SOURCES-categories.txt.

   Used for:
     words.txt   general dictionary (what the word games accept): SCOWL sizes 10-60
                 (60 is the size SCOWL recommends for spell checking), English + American + British spellings.
     common.txt  common words used by the computer opponents and for grid generation: SCOWL sizes 10-20,
                 3-8 letters. It does not change which words are accepted.

   Changes made by Stockboi:
     - Possessive and contracted forms (entries containing an apostrophe, e.g. cat's, don't) removed.
     - Capitalized entries (proper nouns) skipped; only lowercase words kept.
     - Accents removed (café -> cafe); only words made of the letters a-z kept.
     - Words shorter than 2 or longer than 15 letters removed; words without a vowel or y removed (hmm, brr).
     - Rude, sexual, insulting and slur words removed using Stockboi's own block list
       (src/shared/words/blocklist-en.ts), including common inflected forms.
     - common.txt: a short list of archaic words (thee, thou, whence...) left out; they stay valid in words.txt.
     - Duplicates removed, sorted.


2) Stockboi compilation (written for Stockboi, not copied from another list)
   - Hangman words and category hints: src/shared/words/hangman-en.ts
   - English block list: src/shared/words/blocklist-en.ts
   - Letter weights for the Word Duel grid: src/shared/words/letters-en.ts (counted from common.txt)


Considered but not used
   - ENABLE word list (public domain): ~170k words including many obscure Scrabble words; it would roughly
     double the download size (gzip about 440 KB vs about 205 KB measured with Node zlib) without making the
     games better for casual players.
   - "Top 10k common words" style lists of unclear origin: license unknown, not used.
